Il saggio, prendendo le mosse dal mistero dell’Incarnazione, tenta di leggere il tema della corporeità, del matrimonio cristiano e dell’amore sessuale alla luce di questa coordinata. La sessualità quale luogo teologico, quale archetipo di comunione tra opposti, che trova nella corporeità, definitivamente santificata da Cristo, un’occasione di redenzione anziché di colpa. Il superamento di un modello matrimoniale interpretato come remedium concupiscentiæ, funzionale alla strategia teologica elaborata in reazione alla riforma protestante, viene interpretato alla luce di alcuni documenti del magistero: Gaudium et Spes, Humanæ Vitæ e Deus caritas est. L’auspicio è quello di riuscire ad elaborare linguaggi capaci di trasmettere l’enorme positività che il cattolicesimo autentico attribuisce a tutto ciò che è stato redento dal Cristo.

The essay attempts to read into the topics of the body, Christian marriage and sexual love in light of the mystery of the Incarnation. Sexuality is looked into as a theological field of enquiry, an archetype of communion between opposites. If corporeality is sanctified by Christ, sexual love represents an opportunity for redemption, rather than guilt. The marriage model interpreted as remedium concupiscentiæ was functional to the theological strategy elaborated in reaction to the Protestant reform. In later times, it may be subject to change, and in fact has, as we see in documents issued by the Magisterium, such as Gaudium et Spes, Humanæ Vitæ and Deus caritas est. The hope here is to succeed in developing languages which may transmit the huge positivity that authentic Catholicism attributes to all that has been redeemed by Christ.
