Civiltà, Legalità, Pubblicità: sono questi i tre grandi principi trasversali che costituiscono la base della civilizzazione dell’Europa moderna. Questa base della civilizzazione si propone oggi come il mezzo che l’Europa storica offre al fine di edificare un’Europa politica. Partendo da queste tre coordinate, il saggio propone di affrontare il patrimonio culturale e spirituale dell’Europa non come limite identitario ma come risorsa di valori portati allo statuto di offerta di adesione o di riunione. Il che trasformerebbe la memoria storica da memoria autocentrata a responsabilità per un processo ricostruttivo dell’Unione nel quale l’allargamento verso l’altro sia inseparabile da un approfondimento del proprio passato.

Civilization, Legality, Advertising: these are the three universal principles that form the basis of the civilization of modern Europe. This basis of civilization is the catalyst offered by historic Europe to create a political Europe. Starting from these three points, the essay aims to face Europe’s cultural and spiritual heritage not as a limit of identity but as a resource of values brought to the status of cohesion or reunion. This would in turn transform historic memory from a self-centered memory to a responsibility to the recreation of the Union, in which the widening towards the
other is inseparable from a deep analysis of its own past.
